The Lodge....
Jaci's is situated on the edge of the Groot Marico Rivero overlooking an established and well used water hole, under a grove of Tamboti trees. Jaci’s is masterfully blended into its surroundings built around an ancient termite mound.
Featuring only eight large rooms and the exclusive 2 bed-roomed “Nare-Suite” – all built with shaggy thatched roofs, canvas walls and large tented windows – to create a true safari atmosphere.
Each room a charming built in, en-suite hand-made rock bath with an outdoor "safari" shower, and fans to keep a gentle breeze flowing. The rooms boast hand made ceramic fireplaces surrounded by a stone chimney. The deck in front of the room allows you to sit and enjoy the surrounding sights and smells of the bushvield - whilst watching the animals walking past to drink.
The Nare-Suite is a luxurious 4 sleeper suite, that has a self contained kitchen (for our chefs to prepare meals for you in the comfort of your own retreat), lounge and outdoor dining area.
Children sharing with their parents are comfortably accommodated on camping stretchers in the rooms. Maximum 3 children per room.
The generous Main Lodge consists of a spacious lounge and open planned dining area with uninterrupted views of the bush. Enjoy fire cooked meals in our enclosed boma, or under the stars at a bush braai.
Between the early morning and evening game drives and walks, there is a cool swimming pool overlooking the river.
Lie in a hammock, sip an ice-cold drink, watch the birds, the butterflies and beasts, relax, and unwind.
Children on Safari...
Children of all ages are very welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 12 and under sharing with their parents qualify for a special Kiddies rate, which includes child minders and the "jungle drive". Children aged 8 - 12 are allowed on the adults drive and will be given dinner in the dining room on their return from the evening drive. The little ones 0 - 7 are taken on a separate "jungle drive" during the day - this is anything from 1/2 an hour to an hour and a half depending on the interest levels of the kiddies on the drive. Parents are welcome to come along BUT must not behave like adults!!! Child minders look after your treasures while you are on drive and dinner is served @ 18.00 in the dining room.
The Reserve….
This reserve created in 1991, sits right on the South Africa-Botswana border in a malaria-free area. In the largest movement of animals since Noah filled his arc, the 30,352 acre (75,000 ha) reserve was stocked with 10,000 head of game from 27 different species. The park's very existence contributes to the preservation of local fauna and flora and rare animals such as rhino and wild dog, and also provides a more sustainable environment for the local people.
Birds and Animals...
Not only does this reserve boast the 'Big Five' but it also has the 'Super 7'! This adds cheetah and wild dog to the traditional five; leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Plus brown hyena, sable, eland, gemsbok, giraffe and large herds of plains game and plenty of birds.
