The Lodge....
Jaci's Tree Lodge has only Eight "Tree Houses"
Each house encompasses a giant Tamboetie or Leadwood Tree. The “Tree Houses” are constructed amongst the Riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 meters from the ground.
The interiors of Jaci's Tree Lodge proudly showcases the vibrant colors and unique crafts found in Southern Africa. Jaci has created a truly African lodge, enhanced by a superior personal service and a very intimate safari experience.
These spacious “Tree Houses” are built utilizing a combination of rosewood, thatch and stacking doors.
The forest surrounds are invited in, to compliment your stay with us.
The houses boast an open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous bath and outdoor “Jungle Shower” allowing you to enjoy your surrounds.
Whether it is on the deck at your room, or in the main lodge itself, relaxation is all around. You could even wonder off to the forest pool to laze in the sun, or cool off.
The raised wooden walkways are suspended in the forest canopy lining the banks of the Marico River. They then connect with the extraordinary Main Lodge with its generous facilities.
The spacious open-plan main building at Jaci's Tree Lodge includes a magnificent bar and lounge area. Separated from the lounge, by a four sided open fireplace is our luxurious dining room.
At Jaci’s one can experience dining on the deck, above the forest floor and be subjected to the symphony of vibrant stars overhead.
Children on Safari...
Children of all ages are very welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 12 and under sharing with their parents qualify for a special Kiddies rate, which includes child minders and the "jungle drive". Children aged 8 - 12 are allowed on the adults drive and will be given dinner in the dining room on their return from the evening drive. The little ones 0 - 7 are taken on a separate "jungle drive" during the day - this is anything from 1/2 an hour to an hour and a half depending on the interest levels of the kiddies on the drive. Parents are welcome to come along BUT must not behave like adults!!! Child minders look after your treasures while you are on drive and dinner is served @ 18.00 in the dining room.
The Reserve….
This reserve created in 1991, sits right on the South Africa-Botswana border in a malaria-free area. In the largest movement of animals since Noah filled his arc, the 30,352 acre (75,000 ha) reserve was stocked with 10,000 head of game from 27 different species. The park's very existence contributes to the preservation of local fauna and flora and rare animals such as rhino and wild dog, and also provides a more sustainable environment for the local people.
Birds and Animals...
Not only does this reserve boast the 'Big Five' but it also has the 'Super 7'! This adds cheetah and wild dog to the traditional five; leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Plus brown hyena, sable, eland, gemsbok, giraffe and large herds of plains game and plenty of birds.
