About Impodimo Game Lodge
Carved from the hillside, eight glass-fronted luxury chalets line a natural spring. Each chalet offers spectacular scenery. The lodge enjoys spectacular views extending as far as the eye can see. Visit in summer and laze on the pool deck with a chilled chardonnay. Or join us on a winter safari and retire to the library with a cognac. Stoke the fire in your suite and gaze out at the stars before drifting away with vivid images of unrestricted close encounters with Africa's big game.
Community Involvement
The main purpose of the Madikwe game reserve is to create economic and social improvement for the surrounding communities. The Park achieves this currently through lodges like Impodimo. We create employment and impart skills and training to 30 staff. Of these, 23 are from the local communities, and many of these are sole or significant breadwinners for their households. Many of those that we employ have never had jobs before joining Impodimo. Impodimo also makes use of local suppliers and services, which further generate employment and stimulate entrepreneurship in the community.
Impodimo makes a donation to the community of R25 per person per night for every guest that stays with us. This money is paid into a trust, of which Impodimo, the Parks Board and community representatives are trustees. This money will be used for projects that we select, such as helping to develop new local businesses.
Deluxe Suites
Each luxury suites features twin beds with the option of king beds available on request, full en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers, closed system fireplaces and private deck.
Luxury Suites/ Family Suite
Accommodation is in a self-contained luxury unit, which has two suites, each with its own private deck and en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, double hand basin, large bath and excellent views.
The unit also has a central lounge and dining facility with its own kitchen, bar and a viewing deck overlooking a waterhole and stunning views. There is also a private pool fitted with a safety net when not in use for those with younger children.
Children on Safari
Kids of all ages are welcome at Impodimo and they go out of their way to ensure that kids have an unforgettable safari experience.
The kiddies program is tailored to the different age groups and are fun and educational for all.
The kids are all welcomed with a personalized welcome pack filled with goodies and activities to do in between safaris.
Due to safety concerns Children under the age of 6 years are unable to take part on the regular game drives but are instead accommodated on a ‘kiddies bumble’ which is shorter and aimed at keeping the their attention.
Activities
Your dedicated professional ranger and tracker will guide you through the bush on a custom made open Land Rover. There are generally 2 Game drives a day, one in he early morning and the second in the late afternoon. Enjoy a sundowner on safari as you watch the sun set on the bushveld. On your drive back go in search of the more nocturnal creatures that now rule the bush.
A day in the bush is not complete without an in room massage treatment out on your private deck by one of our experienced massage therapists.
